Note

I've been getting a lot of e-mail about this article--most of it good messages from people who learned from the article, some of it sad messages from small business who have been burned, and a very little of it dissatisfied messages from bulk e-mail list sellers.

My name and contact information are here for everyone to see. If a dissatisfied e-mailer can't return the courtesy and give me correct, unforged contact info, then I can't read his or her message. If I receive a message with forged or incomplete contact information, it goes in the trash before I read beyond the headers. So I apologize to you few spammers who have sent me messages signed "Joe Melle" or "Will Not Tell" or with e-mail addresses like nobody@nowhere.com--the text of your complaint never saw the light of day.
